ChartLogic EHR is an ambulatory EHR system designed to work in physicians offices or clinics.

History

ChartLogic EHR was established in 1994 by Brad Melis, under the name of Task Technologies. Melis teamed up with pediatrician Dr Bruce Jorgenson who wanted a technology that would not slow down his practice. Task Technologies/ChartLogic was born by incorporating a sophisticated voice recognition software that has "voice driven commands, dictation, specialty specific vocabulary, microphones, hardware and training - all optimized to achieve highly accurate voice recognition and time saving shortcuts from the start."

Features

Chartlogic made it possible to extend their system with iAchieve EMR, a web-based EHR system. It has several functionalities that make it a very useful tool in the hands of physicians and nurses alike. The system enables a physician to prescribe a medication using the ePrescribe functionality which sends a an electronic prescription to pharmacies. Moreover, advanced reporting allows a clinic to function efficiently by automatically report results to trials conducted or other studies. The system also includes a billing functionality that keeps a balance for each patient and record. Concerning records, the system allows a physician to enter new notes using a pen tablet associated with a handwriting recognition software. During a physical exam, a physician can check and uncheck checkboxes in a fast and time-saving manner. Moreover, vitals can be graphed to allow better understanding of the trend and status of a patient's vitals.

Voice recognition

ChartLogics voice recognition capabilities are now being used in more than 1600 practices supporting daily entries of 400,000 notes.[2] Its EMR/PM capabilities are fully integrated in a client-server model, using [MSSQL database] technology.

ChartLogic has clients across the nation, supporting not only primary care for internal medicine, pediatrics, family practice and OB/GYN, but also specialties such as Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Urology, Cardiology, Pain Management, Allergy, GI, Orthopedics, PT, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Rheumatology, and General Surgery.
