It was founded in 1999 by Jeffrey Buchbinder in Connecticut, United States. FreeMED Software Foundation is a non-profit corporation. [2]

Medical Specialties

The ability to easily access patient data is one of an EMR’s most important requirements. FreeMED facilitates this process by allowing physicians to dividing the content based on their perspective specialty, thereby providing physicians with the option to view only the medical content they perceive to be relevant to their practice.
