FreeMed is one of the longest running opensource electronic medical record and practice management systems.[1]
History
It was founded in 1999 by Jeffrey Buchbinder in Connecticut, United States. FreeMED Software Foundation is a non-profit corporation.

The sole purpose of an EMR is to access patient data more easily. FreeMED allows physicians to group medical content by specialty. This enables the physician to view medical content relevant to his/her practice. The following is a list of specialties that can be found in FreeMED:
