Mission
Goals
The goals for identifying core competencies in clinical informatics include:
- Design of program curricula (which ought to include the competencies relevant to program objectives);
- Design of individual courses (which must operationalize competencies at a more granular level);
- Assessment of individuals to determine satisfactory completion of courses or programs;
- Assessment of individuals by professional organizations, for purposes of certification or qualification in the field;
- Evaluation of programs and curricula, for purposes of accreditation;
- Defining the field of clinical informatics and its subdomains.
