Omar is an Emergency Medicine physician and current Postdoctoral Fellow in Medical Informatics at CHP/PCOR and the Center for Innovation to Implementation (Ci2i) at the VA. He is currently working with Dr. Mary Goldstein to build, validate, and implement Clinical Decision Support for the management of chronic medical conditions affecting veterans. Additionally, he is researching the use of computerized scoring systems for the early identification of sepsis in the Emergency Department. He has an overall interest in developing and implementing Health Information Technology that will augment clinical decision making and improve the value of healthcare.

Omar completed his Emergency Medicine residency training at the University of Chicago. He holds an MD from Ohio State University, an MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg), and a BBA from the University of Michigan (Ross). Omar spent two years as a business consultant at Accenture with a focus on human performance and change management. He is originally from Michigan.
