University-Based training is one of four workforce development programs that The Office of the National Coordinator(ONC) has developed. The purpose of the program is to train professionals for leadership roles in the area of health IT.  There are six targeted workforce roles:

The purpose of the program is to train professionals for leadership roles in the area of health IT.  There are six targeted workforce roles:

 5. Programmers and Software Engineer

Students who are funded through the ONC grants must complete the certificate program within one year, achieve a grade of B or higher in all courses, and commit 20 hours or more to the program each week.
