- Identify a real-world subject – person, place or thing;
- Verify a subject’s claim of identity;
- Create, remove and maintain identities;
- Create and maintain relationships between identities;
- Allow or restrict what a subject can do (parents for kids, physicians who lose privilege);
- Track and monitor who (creates, changes) uses what information.
