E-Shushrut is India's first large scale initiative towards an electronic medical record and is developed by the Center for Advance Computing (CDAC), Govt. of India. The project was released in 2002, but due to poor publicity much of it has not come to light.

Modules
Patient Care: Outpatient and Inpatient EMR, Laboratory Information System, Blood Bank, Operation Theater
Administration: Pharmacy, Kitchen, Sterile Supplies, Billing
Implementation
It is being implemented in major medical colleges and government hospitals across India. Some of the hospitals are:

- S.M.S. Hospital, Jaipur.
- All Hospitals under Govt. of NCT Delhi
- Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute, Lucknow
- Guru Tej Bahadur Hospital, New Delhi
- Regional Cancer Center, Thiruvananthapuram
- Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram
